Riddle Hospital has received Chest Pain Center and PCI (Percutaneous Coronary Intervention) Accreditation from the Society of Chest Pain Centers (SCPC). This accreditation means the hospital has achieved consistent compliance with evidence-based standards and emergency angioplasty, which for patients mean those processes are in place and staff have achieved a higher level of expertise, to meet strict criteria aimed at reducing the time from onset of symptoms to diagnosis and treatment.
“This accreditation from the Society of Chest Pain Centers serves as validation that our patients can rely on Riddle Hospital to provide timely and expert heart and stroke care. To receive these designations, our hospital has been carefully critiqued in all areas of its operations considered important by SCPC surveyors and found to deliver superior results,” said C. Richard Schott, MD, Campus Chief, Division of Cardiology.
Riddle Hospital’s state-of-the-art healthcare encompasses the entire continuum of care for the heart patient, including key focal points as dispatch, Emergency Medical System, emergency department, cardiac catheterization lab, a quality assurance plan, and strong community outreach program.
“This recognition tells us that Riddle Hospital has demonstrated a higher level of expertise dealing with patients who arrive with symptoms of a heart attack and those specialties are indeed delivering superior results,” stated Kelly Henry,MS,RHIT,CPHQ -Director, Regulatory Affairs and Program Excellence. “By becoming an Accredited Chest Pain Center, Riddle Hospital has enhanced the quality of care for our cardiac patients and has demonstrated a solid commitment to higher standards.”
