(Paoli, PA)– Paoli Hospital will host a seminar presented by Justice4PAKids on April 15 at 7:00 pm titled Keep Your Kids Safe. “Childhood sexual abuse is a national problem and tragedy,” says Lynne Stilley, Vice President of Administration at Paoli Hospital. “Paoli Hospital, along with our community partners, encourages and supports the mission of Justice4PAKids’ mission of heightening awareness and sensitivity around this important topic.”
Beth Pitts, Associate Director of Investigations for Swarthmore College, and Tammy Lerner, founding member and Vice President of the Foundation to Abolish Child Sex Abuse (FACSA), will share their knowledge and expertise with concerned parents. Ms. Pitts, formerly from the Chester County DA’s office, will discuss common signs and symptoms to look for in children should one suspect sexual abuse. She will also delve into how to talk to your child—at any age—about sexual abuse and cover where to seek proper legal and counseling help. Ms. Lerner, an incest survivor, will share her personal story in hopes of inspiring other victims to seek counseling and healing through the journey of a victim and survivor.
Justice4pakids provides educational seminars to build greater awareness in hopes of preventing child sexual abuse. “Teaching kids about private part safety is just as important as the safety message of stop, drop and roll,” says Maureen Martinez, President of Justice4PAKids. Justice4PAKids is a non-profit coalition of advocates, survivors, legal and medical professionals and concerned citizens dedicated to bringing greater awareness regarding sexual abuse in children.
